Disk Drill has three great data protection features that will make it much easier for you to prevent and recover lost files in the future. All of these features are completely free with Disk Drill Basic:
- Guaranteed Recovery: This feature allows you to save an invisible copy of every file you put in your Mac’s Trash folder. If you ever decide you need a file back after you’ve emptied your trash, just launch Disk Drill and select Undelete Protected Data to get your file back in minutes.
- Recovery Vault: This feature saves a list of metadata for all files that you delete or remove from a disk. It can be used on your Mac hard drive or any external drive or partition with an HFS+, FAT or FAT32 file system. With Recovery Vault enabled, your scans for lost data are much quicker and you stand a much better chance of getting your data back with their file names intact.
- S.M.A.R.T. Status Monitor: Most hard drives, both internal and external, have a system called S.M.A.R.T. that keeps track of certain disk health indicators. Disk Drill will connect to the S.M.A.R.T. information on your drives and warn you if there are any indicators that your disk is about to fail.
