And there’s always a possibility that your recovered items will be corrupted and won’t open correctly. And the fact is, while we do our best to improve our software with every new update and release, and invest as much of our experience and professional knowledge into the best recovery results as we can, there are always conditions that lead to incomplete or impossible recovery.
When you upgrade to Disk Drill PRO or Enterprise, we are selling you the right to use and apply our technologies in your specific scenarios, making an attempt to recover the lost data. We don’t limit you in the number of uses, and once the license is purchased, you have it for good. It won’t expire or require any annual renewals. But we don’t guarantee that the files you are looking for are recoverable. This is one of the reasons why we don’t provide refunds if there was an inconsistent recovery in a specific case.

To recap, if a file can be correctly previewed — it will be correctly recovered. This is how you can easily tell if Disk Drill is worth the cost of the upgrade. On the contrary, if you don’t see the preview of a file in question, there’s no guarantee it won’t be recovered properly, sometimes the Preview feature may require dependent chunks of data, or simply doesn’t support rich content from a specific file format. To sum it up, if you can preview your files, we guarantee the recovery results; if the preview doesn’t work — there’s no warranty on those items. As a result, we assume that your informed decision to upgrade to Disk Drill PRO or Enterprise was made consciously and, unfortunately, it cannot be reimbursed.
Hint: If you are concerned that you might lose your data during the 5 minutes or so it takes to upgrade and receive the unlock code, we recommend that you use the Remount Disk as Read-Only option or the Backup Into DMG Image option. This will preserve the disk in its exact state and you won’t have to worry about it being modified by your actions.
