Disk Drill is perhaps most notable in its agnosticism about drive formats: it can handle crashed drives in Mac’s own HFS+ format as well as Windows FAT and NTFS and lost data on solid state cards used in portable electronics.
As a result, if you accidentally delete a file, empty the Trash Can when you didn’t mean to, or even run into a hardware issue, chances are very good that Disk Drill will be able to find the file using Quick or universal Scan.
Disk Drill offers a solution to data recovery that I found to be interesting enough for a chin rub and a thumbs up. In fifteen minutes it had found over one thousand deleted images. One thousand! This app scored high on my list of awesome Mac apps. Cody Fink
In two steps I had a list of the deleted files on my main Mac drive and this included quite a few from earlier deletions. I was surprised and pleasantly amazed. The average and skilled Mac user will find the program a great addition to their Mac.
Disk Drill has no detailed manual, nor is any needed, as there’s an excellent tutorial when you start the app, an evidencing of a very professional approach.
I tried the application on a media card and it recovered several deleted images – most at their full resolution size.
