However, there are still two different ways to do so depending on the app.<\/p>\r\n<h4>In-App Option<\/h4>\r\n<p>Some third-party apps allow you to clear the cache directly from the app\u2019s settings. This includes social media apps like Facebook and TikTok as well as web browsers like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>As an example, here are the steps to delete the cache on TikTok:<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Go to the <b>profile<\/b> tab and tap the <b>three lines<\/b> on the top right. Select <b>Settings and privacy<\/b> at the bottom.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Scroll down to the Cache &amp; Cellular section and pick <b>Free up space<\/b>.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>You\u2019ll then see how much of your device\u2019s space the app consumes at the top. Once you do this, you\u2019ll start from scratch with the app and its data.<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>To delete an app, long-press its icon on your Home screen.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Then, do one of the following:\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Select <b>Remove App<\/b> and then <b>Delete App<\/b>. This is useful when deleting just one app.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Continue pressing the icon to enter jiggle mode. Tap the <b>minus sign<\/b> on the top left corner of the icon and select <b>Delete App<\/b>. You can delete these apps just like third-party apps you download from the App Store which removes the cache associated with the apps.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>Some exceptions include Messages, Photos, Camera, and Safari which must remain on your device. Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/HT211833\">Apple Support page<\/a> for a complete list of removable apps.<\/p>\r\n<p>To delete an app provided by Apple, be sure you\u2019re running iOS 14 or later. Rather than saving messages forever, you can automatically delete them after 30 days or one year.<\/p>\r\n<p>Follow these steps to change the message history limit:<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Open the <b>Settings<\/b> app and select <b>Messages<\/b>.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Scroll down to Messages History and tap <b>Keep Messages<\/b>.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Choose <b>30 Days<\/b> or <b>1 Year<\/b> per your preference.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>You\u2019ll be prompted to delete messages currently within the timeframe you select.
