Just recently got a question from one of our clients:<\/p>\n

“I have been using Disk Drill\u00a0on a MacBook Pro. What files do I need to copy over to another Mac in order to keep the scans I have already done?”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

🍏 To migrate or move Disk Drill for macOS<\/a>, you just need to do the following:<\/b><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. On your old computer, locate the following folder and transfer a copy to your new computer: ~\/Library\/Application Support\/DiskDrill<\/strong><\/kbd><\/span><\/svg><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. If you have the PRO version of Disk Drill, you may need to uninstall Disk Drill<\/a> on your old Mac before you install it on your new computer (the PRO license allows installation on up to 3 Macs). Launch Disk Drill and go to Disk Drill<\/b> > Preferences…<\/b> > Remove Disk Drill<\/b>.<\/li>\n
  3. On your new computer, download<\/a> the free version of Disk Drill from the CleverFiles website and install it.<\/li>\n
  4. Enter your activation code if you have a PRO or Enterprise license<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  5. Quit Disk Drill.<\/li>\n
  6. On your new computer, go to\u00a0~\/Library\/Application Support\/<\/strong><\/kbd><\/span><\/svg><\/span><\/span> and replace the Disk Drill folder with the one you transferred from your old computer.<\/li>\n
  7. Start Disk Drill and your old scans will be available.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n🪟 To transfer     Disk Drill for Windows<\/a> to another PC, follow these steps:<\/b><\/p>\n

    1. Copy your Disk Drill data folder<\/b>. On your old PC, navigate to %localappdata%\\DiskDrill<\/strong><\/kbd><\/span><\/svg><\/span><\/span> and copy the entire DiskDrill folder to an external drive or network location.<\/li>\n
    2. Uninstall (if using PRO).<\/b> If you\u2019re running Disk Drill PRO, uninstall<\/a> it on the old computer to free up<\/a> one of your three allowed activations.<\/li>\n
    3. Install Disk Drill on the new PC.<\/b> Download<\/a> the latest free installer from the CleverFiles website and run it.<\/li>\n
    4. Activate your license.<\/b> Launch Disk Drill and enter your PRO or Enterprise activation code to unlock full features<\/a>.<\/li>\n
    5. Restore your data folder.<\/b> Quit Disk Drill, then replace the newly created %localappdata%<\/strong><\/kbd><\/span><\/svg><\/span><\/span> folder on your new PC with the one you copied from your old computer.<\/li>\n
    6. Relaunch Disk Drill.<\/b> Open Disk Drill on your new machine\u2014your previous scan sessions and some settings will be instantly available.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
