After 10 hours and a quarter of the way through a deep scan my accidentally formatted 3TB drive is recovering my raw SD mpg video files. The only problem is – there is over 100,000 of them already. The drive looks like it is fragmented and splitting the videos into 3-4 second clips rather than their full 30min files. Its great that Disk Drill can recover the files, but unfortunately is going to be nigh impossible to stitch potentially 400,000 clips back together. Is there any way to rescue the mpg’s as complete 2gb files instead of the fragmented 1020kb sections?
Unfortunately Deep Scan has no way to reach your file system to reconstruct fragments. If the files were fragmented, not all of them will be recovered, as there’s no way to detect which blocks belong to one file and which ones to another.
