    Hello all…
    Sorry if it seems a stupid question. I am trying disk drill and still don´t fully understand the program. If I get it right, the use of Disk Drill would make TimeMachine backups unnecessary? I have been using an external 2TB drive to make backups till now… Slow but effective. Can someone give me a hint on this please?

    Data recovery is never a replacement for well-organized backups. However, what Disk Drill actually brings in is Recovery Vault and Guaranteed Recovery. The latter is explained here:

    Recovery Vault works differently and is vulnerable to empty space being overwritten by other data with time.
