First of all, new user here. Very impressed with a minor item. I use Modo (3D) files and was pleased to see that Disk Drill has a specific file search for Modo files. Cool. Not my question though…
I need to search for Applescript files that were deleted (or not). The type is .scp. I noted that under preferences -> file types -> Documents there is a notation for .scp but there isn’t a check box for that type. It’s the only type of file I wish to search for but without a check box, Disk Drill prefs doesn’t seem to accept the file type.
Any thoughs on a lack of checkbox and what that means to a search?

As you can see noted there in Prefs, there’s no checkbox when Deep Scan does not know that file signature. I’ll speak to my developers and find out why exactly it’s not supported yet, but I suspect there’s simply no way to uniquely identify Applescripts, they might not have any specific file structure to be used by Deep Scan.April 28, 2014 at 4:21 pm #5210
OK. I guess I get it. BTW it was .scpt I was addressing. I called it .scp. Sorry.
I’ll say I guess I get it as I don’t understand why it’s in the list if it’s not selectable by deep scan. Does that mean that Quick Scan looks for .scpt but not Deep Scan?April 29, 2014 at 6:11 am #5213
Yes, the list includes more file types that might be recovered by all scanning methods. We are updating this list with every new release.
