In the root of the Recovery interface I’d like to see you add the ‘human’ names of the disks. As one that has 4 identical drives the interface makes it hard to determine which drive is which. I know you can click on each disk to figure it out… but why not use that first. It is what most users will look for.
The model of my disks is wrapped. Would be nice to see it all on the same line.
There is an odd space in the model number of my attached firewire drive. Not sure if this really an issue.
General question. Have you evaluated how your product works in conjunction with Securely Deleted Data? (i.e. Securely Empty Trash set)
Looking forward to testing your product a bit more robustly shortly.October 6, 2010 at 4:59 pm #4529

Can you send a screenshot to firstname.lastname@example.org? Thanks

We surely did. And… it won’t work of course. We don’t do a backup copy of the data. If the data is not deleted, but is shredded instead, really shredded, like deleted-and-overwritten immediately on the low level: unfortunately there’s no recovery software to be able to recover that. You should always realize that doing 2 opposite actions like removing something completely intentionally and then trying to recover this is not possible. Occasional deletions or accidental data loss due to software or hardware errors are a completely different story.October 6, 2010 at 5:00 pm #4530
Sorry, forgot to tell you: we are working on the other questions of yours. Also thanks!October 18, 2010 at 5:46 am #4545
