Disk Drill updated to version 1.4. Details here: /help/disk-drill-1-4-introduces-guaranteed-recovery/August 7, 2011 at 2:27 pm #4764
So, what does this “Guaranteed Recovery” mean? My “recovery” does not appear to be working…like it did in the “preview mode.” Most of my data is videos and they do not play without problems. Please advise. Thx, MikeAugust 8, 2011 at 1:19 am #4765
MrMike, which scanning method are you using? Guranteed Recovery has to be turned ON before your data is gone, it’s a protection method, not pure data recovery, like Quick or Deep ScanAugust 8, 2011 at 7:24 pm #4768
I see…I thought you meant you “Guaranteed Recovery.” I did a deep scan, previewed files, which the few I looked at seemed good, but then when I did the recovery I found that most of the files are corrupt and unusable. Not to mention that none of my folders were preserved. Not sure what to do now…August 10, 2011 at 10:46 pm #4771
Check the tutorial, it explains why Deep Scan is actually working this way. With data recovery it’s always great to have at least the contents of files recovered.
