I have a 4TB external drive that I store my photos and music on. After a program crash the volume was corrupted and unrepairable by just about every tool. Even DiskWarrior was unable to recover the volume. Disk Drill seems to have been able to find most of the files, though I’m still 19 hours away from the deep scan completing.
My question is this – it found a partition of 3.64TB which is probably all of my data. Is it better to attempt to restore that or to restore the files individually?
Wait till the end of Deep Scan and save the scanning session. Get back into the list of your partitions in Disk Drill. Look for the new virtual partition that should be mounted, if it’s there, run Quick Scan on it. If you see your whole disk structure after the scan, it’s the better way to recover your data than Deep Scan.
