Hi there, can anyone tell me if it’s possible to deep scan another macbook pro hard drive from my macbook pro.

I’ve heard about using target disk mode with a firewire, but would it be possible to scan the other Mac using an ethernet connection or wireless connection?

    many thanks, Dynamo

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to recover from a network drive. More details in this article. Network recovery requires an agent utility installed on a target Mac, which is not always possible and not yet supported by Disk Drill.

However, if you mount the other Mac via FireWire, as described for instance here, you will be able to recover remotely.
