Something has been slowing down iTunes from flushing the Downloads directory and copying the files to their final destinations (TV Shows, Movies, etc.) After getting Apple Support online, we found that under iTunes Get Info, Summary the file being referenced is pointing to .cleverfiles/hlink.ref/.

Yeah, I don’t get it either.

So far, the solution seems to be to turn off Guaranteed Recovery (I have Time Machine on that drive) and resetting the storage. More as I dig into it.

What were your settings with Guaranteed Recovery? The folder you are referring to is definitely the one that belongs to that protection algorithm, but with proper configuration Guaranteed Recovery cannot cause any slowdowns.
