    Hey!
I formatted my harddrive by accident. Did a Deep Scan and then recovered the files, now I have a 900GB+ .dmg file. When I double click it I see a new harddrive (with the new name I gave to the formatted hdd, not the old name) and I see now files. Am I doing anything wrong?
    Desperately looking for help,
    Peter

It seems like you used the option to Backup your new partition into DMG-image. Or was this DMG file among the found ones as a result of the Deep Scan?

    Hey JR!
    Thanks for your answer!
If I don’t get it wrong, it was one of the results of the Deep Scan!
What does that mean for me? Can I extract files from the dmg? The dmg has 900GB+ while the single files combined have about 440GB.

If the DMG is just the copy of existing disk, then there’s nothing to extract, I guess. If it’s the lost partition you were looking for, then surely, you just need to get back to the list of disks and quick-scan it.
